I shifted to ATS Tower 1, in Oct 2015. When I was shifting my baggage, a lean and thin person visited me, I asked for his introduction and he told me that he was Gurcharan Singh Brar and had shifted to flat No 1023 two level above my flat in Sep 2015, thus making him the first resident in ATS Lifestyle. He then kept on visiting me and I found out that he was a US citizen. He got divorced from his wife due to personal reasons and he had one son and daughter in USA both married. He appeared to be a disturbed soul and sometimes in April 2016, I could not sleep since there was loud banging of doors on second floor. I rang him up but he got agitated on me and started shouting on phone. Therefore I started avoiding him. In next couple of years he would remain disturbed at times yell at residents and sometimes some guys will rough him up too. At number of times, I tried to reason out with him to see logic and live peacefully. We even invited him to some society functions which he attended . In some functions he got disturbed. So slowly we stopped inviting him to functions. It surfaced out that he was also not contacted by his kin in USA. So perhaps he felt isolated and frustrated. To overcome his loneliness he took to drinks and his behaviour became erratic. While being sober he would behave like a perfect gentleman, but who knew when he would become disturbed. He then had one maid as his caretaker. He would often throw cigarette buts in my lawn which I would patiently pick up and put them in the dustbin. In all he was a disturbed soul. He would at time play one song ( full of Birha and Bairag, sadness) and would continue playing it for hours together. His soul was highly disturbed and he carried it imprisoned in his body for many years. Many times he told me that he was a successful businessman in USA, owned restaurant, had water front house and luxury cars, but lost it somewhere around the way. On 02 April 2025 one day before my travel to USA he wanted to talk to me. We met in ATS lawn and chatted for an hour. He told me that he had been ditched by his family. I could see and feel his pain. He also told me that he had adopted his caretaker as his daughter. I also felt sorry and wished him peace and health. Yesterday while in USA, I got the news that Mr Brar was no more.
His troubled soul got liberated.
I believe the caretaker maid cremated him. None from his family came. I wonder even if they know about his death. Very few would shed tears for him. There would be no more disturbance in the residential area. I believes he willed his flat and everything to his caretaker maid.
A disturbed Soul has finally got liberated.
