It’s the start of the month, and the clock strikes the hour,
I sit with my bills, feeling their power.
Some are known, neatly marked on a list,
Others hide in shadows, easily missed.
Sometimes I earn just enough to get by,
Other times I struggle, and I wonder why.
There are always those bills in limbo, in play,
Adding to debts, that silently sway.
But there are debts unseen, hidden from view,
Born from my actions, in all that I do.
Karmic dues, from lives untold,
Gathering quietly, as the days unfold.
My goal is simple, clear them with grace,
Before I leave this earthly place.
For in settling these, my true value lies,
A balance sheet clear when I say my goodbyes.
