Ram Navmi, Remembering Lord Rama.

Today in India, we all are celebrating Ram navmi, a sacred Hindu festival that commemorates the birth of Lord Rama, one of the most revered incarnations of the divine in Hinduism. It falls on the ninth day of the Chaitra month in the Hindu calendar, typically in March or April.

The philosophy of Ram, as embodied in the epic Ramayana, is multifaceted and rich with timeless teachings. Lord Rama is revered as the epitome of, Maryada, righteousness (dharma) and virtue. His life serves as a guide for humanity, offering profound insights into morality, duty, and devotion.

Ram’s unwavering commitment to truth and righteousness, even in the face of adversity, inspires us to uphold our values and principles in every aspect of life. His humility, compassion, and respect for all beings exemplify the qualities of a true leader and noble human being.

The Ramayana teaches us the importance of fulfilling our responsibilities (karma) with dedication and integrity, regardless of the obstacles we may encounter along the way. Ram’s exile, his journey to rescue his beloved wife Sita from the clutches of evil, and his eventual return to Ayodhya as a victorious king, symbolize the triumph of good over evil and the eventual realization of divine justice.

Ultimately, the philosophy of Ram encourages us to strive for inner purity, selflessness, and devotion to the divine. It reminds us that through righteous action, steadfast faith, and unwavering devotion, we can overcome any challenge and attain spiritual liberation (moksha). On Ramnavmi, devotees across the world come together to celebrate the life and teachings of Lord Rama, seeking his blessings for a life filled with love, wisdom, and inner peace.

May we all imbibe the Maryada taught by Lord Shri Ram.
