In solitude, I find my peace
Away from noise and worldly tease
I keep company with my soul
And with the things that make me whole
My hobbies bring me pure delight
They help me unwind, day or night
Nature, too, is a faithful friend
With her beauty, my soul she tends
I read books and nourish my mind
With thoughts that are inspiring and kind
I shun the company of those who gossip
Who judge and criticize, and never stop
I don’t compare my wealth or worth
With others’ possessions, be it great or dearth
For I know true happiness lies within
And not in the things that are mere sin
I am my own companion, my guide
In my solitude, I do not hide
I bask in the serenity that it brings
And let my soul take flight with its wings.
