Why I Play Golf Alone.

Golf, Me and Shadow!

Game of golf is usually played by four balls (four players in a team). Sometimes even two players can play the game but rarely you would find a single player playing the game.

When I was young and in service, I also played the game in a four or two balls. But after my retirement and in advancing years of my life, I prefer to play Golf alone. My reasons.

1. Freedom, Independence ……. I am not tied up with other players. Free to choose my time, my pace and duration of the game.

2. No side attractions. Four balls usually spend more time in drink and eats break than the game itself.

3. No frivolous activities. Four balls usually indulge more in gossip, loose talk etc. Playing alone you only concentrate on your game.

4. No Judging others. In a four ball you do observe some of your team mates cheating ( better positioning of ball, undercounting their total strokes etc), which may force you to make opinion about their character.

5. One to one with Nature. You can introspect yourself in between the shots. Meditate and talk to your inner self.

6. No Competition. Playing alone, you are only competing with yourself to improve your game.

7. Pursuing your hobby. When I play alone , I indulge in nature photography in between the shots.

8. More Exercise. You can set your exercise goals while playing alone. You can play faster and finish when you feel like.

Thus we see playing alone has many advantages. Happy Golfing.
