A learned and knowledgeable person is endowed with many qualities and facets of life. He/she is a balanced personality and behaves as per the situation. Sikh scriptures state that such a person is a King among the Kings and when it comes to renunciation and detachment, he/she behaves like an Ascetic.
Similarly among a household, he/she follows all the household duties and obligations and takes part in creation process of the nature, thereafter brings up the children in a responsible manner to make them good members of the society.
At the same time a learned person is God fearing and is continuously aware of Lord’s presence and keeps Him in mind at all the times. Such devotion gives him/her a perfect piece of mind. Such a person is perfect and balanced; very few can fathom such a person. Similar sentiments are echoed in Sikh scriptures and I quote excerpts from Sri Guru Granth Sahib (SGGS) holy book of Sikhs.
“ਰਾਜ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਜ ਜੋਗ ਮਹਿ ਜੋਗੀ ||
ਤਾਪ ਮਹਿ ਤਪੀਸਰ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਤ ਮਹਿ ਭੋਗੀ ||
ਧਿਆਏ ਧਿਆਏ ਭਗਤਾਹ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਇਆ ||
ਨਾਨਕ ਤੀਸ ਪੁਰਖ ਕਾ ਕਿਨੈ ਅੰਤ ਨਾ ਪਾਇਆ ||”

“Raaj Meh raaj jog me jogi.
(Among kings, He behaves like a King, Among yogis, He is a Yogi)
Tap meh tapisar, garihsat meh bhogi.
(Among ascetics, He is the Ascetic; Among householders, He is the enjoyer)
Dhiaaya dhiaaya bhagtah such paaiaa.
(By constant meditation, His Devotee finds peace )
Naanak tis purakh ka kinai ant na paaiaa.
(O Nanak, no has ever fathomed such a person.)” (SGGS Page 284)
